This project adopts a new generation of green complete sets of caprolactam technology with independent intellectual property rights of China Petrochemical Company, which is the first time that this technology has been industrialized, marking the completion and commissioning of a single set of caprolactam R&D base with the largest capacity and leading technology in the world, and providing a new path for the green transformation and development of heavy chemical industry along the Yangtze River.

The total investment of this project is 15.35 billion yuan, covering an area of 2,650 mu. The project will relocate the caprolactam industrial chain of Baling Petrochemical, which is less than 1 km away from the Yangtze River and connected with the main urban area of Yueyang City, to Yueyang Green Chemical High-tech Zone, Hunan Province, which is 3.1 km away from the Yangtze River coastline. According to the idea of "safety and green, technology upgrading, first building and then dismantling, and doubling the scale", the project has newly built 58 units including coal gasification, caprolactam, polyamide, synthetic ammonia, hydrogen peroxide and cyclohexanone, covering the whole industrial chain from coal to polyamide, and the annual production capacity of caprolactam has increased from 300,000 tons to 600,000 tons. The project promotes the transformation and upgrading of traditional petrochemical industry to high-end, intelligent, green and integrated through upgrading industrial chain, extending product chain and upgrading value chain.
With independent intellectual property rights, it provides important technical support for the transformation, upgrading and development of caprolactam industry chain in China. The project adopts the green complete set of new technologies of caprolactam, which won the China Industrial Award and the first prize of national technological invention. Among them, esterification hydrogenation to cyclohexanone and slurry bed anthraquinone to hydrogen peroxide are the "Ten Dragons" scientific and technological key projects of China Petrochemical Company. The esterification hydrogenation to cyclohexanone plant is the first industrialized plant in the world, which adopts a brand-new reaction principle and subverts the traditional technological route. It has the advantages of high carbon yield, less discharge of "three wastes", cleanliness and high efficiency, and provides important technical support for the transformation and development of the industrial chain. The technology of preparing hydrogen peroxide from anthraquinone in slurry bed and the technology of preparing cyclohexanone oxime from cyclohexanone oxime were successfully enlarged and applied for the first time, and the safety factor of the new technology of hydrogen peroxide was effectively improved. The coal gasification plant is the first one in China Petrochemical Company to adopt the third generation domestic coal water slurry water wall gasification technology. The project was built in accordance with the standard of "5G Smart Factory", with the localization rate of equipment of 99.9% and the central control system of the project all localized.
