Winter Is Tough, European Buyers Hope To Purchase More Chinese Electric Blankets!

The EU countries have implemented several rounds of severe sanctions against Russia, which is really a once-in-a-century consensus and persistence. In the foreseeable future, the EU is likely to remove Russian oil and coal. Natural gas will also be closed outside the EU! However, it is difficult for natural gas to be transfused by sea. We believe that in the near future, it will be more difficult for ordinary people in Europe.
In Russia's countermeasures, closing Beixi No.1 is a big move. This is the natural gas pipeline built in 2011, which starts from Viborg in Russia in the east and leads to Germany through the Baltic Sea. It is the main pipeline for Russia to transport gas to Europe and can be called the lifeline of European energy.
Last year, one-third of Europe's energy used for power generation, transportation, and heating came from natural gas, while Russia supplied nearly one-third of the EU's natural gas.
Since June this year, Russia has reduced the gas supply of Beixi No. 1. In July, Beixi No. 1 stopped gas supply for ten days due to routine maintenance. In the latest September, Gazprom announced that it would indefinitely close the Beixi No. 1 gas pipeline transmitting gas to Europe on the grounds of main turbine leakage.
Now it is approaching October. This action of Russia has completely pushed up the natural gas price in Europe. Now Europeans generally feel that this winter will be colder!
According to Eurostat data, as of July, the EU's annual energy price inflation rate was 38.3%. The price inflation rates of natural gas and electricity are 52.2% and 31.1% respectively.
Now, on the one hand, Europe is crazy about importing coal. The total amount of coal imported by Europe from January to August has increased by 35% year on year. Therefore, India's coal king has become the second richest person in the world after Musk.
In addition to buying coal and chopping firewood for winter, European people are also trying to buy heating equipment such as electric blankets and heaters made in China.
The latest data from the China Household Appliance Association shows that since 2022, the export volume of most household appliances to Europe has declined. The categories of growth mainly include air conditioners, electric water heaters, electric heaters, electric blankets, and hair dryers, among which electric blankets lead to other categories with a 97% growth rate. After all, they save more electricity than air conditioners!
In January this year, the monthly number of electric blankets imported from China by 27 EU countries was 189000, 73000, and 61000 in February and March respectively, 154000, 222000, and 521000 from April to June respectively, and rose rapidly to 1.29 million in July!

The sales volume of electric blankets in China soars
In terms of electric heaters, electric blankets, and air source heat pumps, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and Germany have strong import demand for electric heaters.
In terms of electric blankets, the import demand of various countries has increased at a high speed, and Greece, Italy, Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands have doubled.
In addition, the export of air source heat pumps also ushered in a historic opportunity. A heat pump is a kind of heating device driven by electric energy, which can efficiently use low-grade heat energy. It absorbs heat from nature and obtains heat energy for production and life through the transportation of a heat pump.
At present, the penetration rate of heat pumps in Europe still has great room for improvement. Norway has 50 heat pumps per 1000 households, which is one of the countries with the highest retention in the EU. Spain and Finland have slightly more than 40 heat pumps per 1000 households, while the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, and the United Kingdom have less than 10 heat pumps per 1000 households.
In the first half of 2022, the sales volume of China's air source heat pump industry was 7.193 billion yuan, and the export volume was 3.45 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 68.2%.
At present, China is the main supplier of air source heat pumps in Europe, accounting for 60% of the market. In the first half of the year, China's export of air source heat pumps increased by 71% in Spain, 198% in Italy, 373% in Poland, and 614% in Bulgaria.
Now, Italy, Germany, Britain, and other European countries have introduced strong subsidy policies for the promotion of air source heat pumps. European subsidies for the installation of an air source heat pump can be up to 5000 euros, which will be implemented in batches.
In 2021, China will export more than 2 million air source heat pumps to Europe. The industry is optimistic that the export volume of air source heat pump products in China will exceed 10 million in the future.
