Entecavir Powder is a new generation of guanine nucleoside analogues for the treatment of hepatitis B virus infection. It is mainly used for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B in adults with active viral replication, continuous increase of serum aminotransferase, or active liver histology. It is currently the fastest and strongest nucleoside analogues with the lowest rate of mutation. Entecavir is a purine nucleoside derivative, has an inhibitory effect on DNA synthesis, and its anti-herpesvirus activity is 160 times stronger than that of adenosine arabine. It is clinically used for simple herpes virus encephalitis, herpes virus keratitis and external genital infection, AIDS varicella zoster virus infection and cytomegalovirus infection, chronic hepatitis B and so on.

Common side effects include headache, nausea, high blood sugar, and decreased kidney function. Severe side effects include enlargement of the liver, high blood lactate levels, and liver inflammation if the medication is stopped. While there appears to be no harm from use during pregnancy, this use has not been well studied. Entecavir is in the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) family of medications. It prevents the hepatitis B virus from multiplying by blocking reverse transcriptase.
