2 Deoxyguanosine is an important raw material for the synthesis of antiviral and anti-tumor nucleic acid drugs such as oligodeoxynucleotides.

 

Guanosine is a ribonucleoside due to its ribose sugar. In contrast, deoxyguanosine is a deoxyribonucleoside for having a sugar component that is deoxyribose. Deoxyguanosine differs from guanosine by having a hydroxyl group replaced by hydrogen at the 2′ position of the sugar moiety.

 

 

2 Deoxyguanosine is a natural deoxyriboside, which can be directly used in the preparation of combined deoxyriboside drugs or used as chemical reagents for biochemical research. At the same time, it can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of some antiviral nucleosides and molecular markers.

 

The chemical properties of 2' -deoxyguanosine are more active, may decompose under heat, in addition, it is sensitive to air, long-term placement may cause deterioration, so it needs to be sealed in a low temperature (-20 degrees) and dry environment, preferably stored in an inert gas atmosphere.
