Doramectin is a yellowish brown powder with cyclohexanecarboxylic acid as its precursor, and its solubility in water is extremely low. Pure Doramectina raw material is an avermectin antibiotic fermented by a new strain of Streptomyces avermitilis, which is considered as one of the best antiparasitic drugs in the avermectin family at present. Doramectin C25 is cyclohexane, and ivermectin is a mixture of several homologues. C25 of B1a (80%) is CH(CH3)C2H5, and C25 of B1b (20%) is CH(CH3)-CH3. Doramectin C22 and C23 are double bonds, while ivermectin is single bond. In addition, the 25th carbon of doramectin has a non-polar six-carbon ring, which improves its pharmacokinetics.
