Under in vitro test conditions, this peptide helps increase the survival rate of dopamine neurons in the fetal rat's midbrain, promotes synaptic development, and alleviates the damage caused by neurotoxins like 6-HYDROXYDOPAMINE HYDROBROMIDE to neurons. Relevant studies conducted on Parkinson's model animals show that after acting through the non-invasive nasal delivery route, the content of 3-Hydroxytyramine and its metabolites in the animal's brain increases, the abnormal movement symptoms are alleviated, and the dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra region also receive corresponding protection. Compared with the source protein GDNF, the action pathway of DNSP-11 is different; current research indicates that this peptide does not directly activate the classical receptors of GDNF, but mainly relies on regulating the ERK1/2 signaling pathway and its unique mitochondrial protection effect to exert biological effects.
