Laccase Enzyme is a single electron oxidoreductase that catalyzes different types of substrate oxidation reactions, mainly manifested in the generation of substrate free radicals and the synergistic effect of four copper ions in the Laccase Enzyme molecule. The substrate binds to the type I Cu2+site of the enzyme active center and is transferred to the trinuclear site through the Cys His pathway. This site further transfers electrons to the second substrate oxygen molecule bound to the active center, reducing it to water. The entire reaction process requires continuous single electron oxidation to fully reduce Laccase Enzyme, and the reduced enzyme molecules are then transferred to molecular oxygen through four electron transfer. During this process, oxygen reduction is likely to occur in two steps, with two electrons transferring to produce a hydrogen peroxide intermediate, which is then reduced to water under the action of the other two single electrons.
