Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate Powder CAS 747-36-4

Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate Powder is an anti-malarial drug, but also has anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and anticoagulant effects, hydroxychloroquine is currently used in the clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile chronic arthritis, discoid lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus. The pharmacological action of this drug is not very clear, it may be related to the stabilization of lysosomal membrane, inhibition of prostaglandin formation, inhibition of chemotaxis of polymorphonuclear cells and phagocytosis, may interfere with the formation of monocyte interleukin-1 and inhibit the release of neutrophil superoxide.

1. Retinal changes
Retinal pigmentation changes and visual field defects may occur, but are rare. These lesions are reversible after early discontinuation of this product. If further developed, there is still an increased risk even after stopping the product. Patients with retinopathy may have no symptoms early on, or may have paracentral scotoma, annular defects around the center, temporal defects, and abnormal color vision.

2. Corneal changes
Corneal changes have been reported including corneal edema and opacity, which may be asymptomatic or may cause such things as halos, blurred vision, or photophobia. These symptoms may be temporary or reverse after stopping the drug. Blurred vision due to dysregulation is dose-dependent and may also be reversible.
