Description
Guanidine isothiocyanate is a white crystalline substance with a melting point of 116-121 ℃. At 20 ℃, the pH value of 6mol/L in water is 4.5-6, and its solubility is complete dissolution. Pure guanidine thiocyanate can be used as a biochemical reagent and pharmaceutical intermediate. What is the principle of action of this product?
Guanidinium thiocyanate (GTC) or guanidinium isothiocyanate (GITC) is an ultra-pure molecular biological reagent. Although it is most commonly used as a nucleic acid protector when extracting DNA and RNA from cells. However, it is also a uncoupler, a strong protein denaturant, which can dissolve protein, make the secondary structure of protein disappear, degrade the cell structure, and quickly separate the nuclear protein from the nucleic acid.
GITC may also be recognized as guanidine thiocyanate. This is because guanidinium is the conjugate acid of guanidine and is called the guanidinium cation, [CH6N3]+
