Product description

Adenosine 5'-monophosphate (AMP), also known as 5'-adenylic acid, is a nucleotide. AMP consists of a phosphate group, the sugar ribose, and the nucleobase adenine. It is an ester of phosphoric acid and the nucleoside adenosine.
Adenosine 5'-monophosphate plays an important role in many cellular metabolic processes, being interconverted to adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP), as well as allosterically activating enzymes such as myophosphorylase-b.
It is obtained by extracting nucleic acid from protein-producing Candida utilis bacteria with hot water and separating it by enzymatic hydrolysis. It can be used as an intermediate for the production of nucleic acid drugs, health food and biochemical reagents, and for the manufacture of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), cyclic adenosine acid (cAMP) and other biochemical drugs.
A naturally occurring nucleotide that promotes the binding of APS reductase inhibitors and activates adenosine receptor agonists.
It readily combines with phosphate to form various chemical compounds including adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
Adenosine 5'-monophosphate has been found to speed healing, reduce the duration of pain of shingles, and prevent the development of postherpetic neuralgia. (AMP), a compound that occurs naturally in the body, has been found to be effective against shingles outbreaks.

What is the function of AMP?
Adenosine monophosphate (AMP) is one of the components of RNA and also the organic component of the energy-carrying molecule ATP. In certain vital metabolic processes, AMP combines with inorganic phosphate to form ADP (adenosine diphosphate) and then ATP.
What is the use of Adenosine 5'-monophosphate?
It readily binds to phosphates to form various compounds, including adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP). People use it to cure diseases. AMP is used to treat shingles (herpes zoster infection) and a blood disorder known as porphyria cutis tarda.
What is the function of AMP in chemistry?
Its functions are for intracellular energy transport for various metabolic processes including biosynthetic reactions, motility, and cell division. AMP may also serve as a source of inosine monophosphate (IMP). It is sometimes converted into IMP with the catalytic action of myoadenylate deaminase.
