Ceftazidime

Ceftazidime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Similar to other third-generation Cephaloridine, it has a broader response against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The difference is that it is effective against P. aeruginosa, but is less resistant to gram-positive bacteria, so it is not used for this infection.

Ceftazidime powder is used for pneumonia and lower respiratory tract infection caused by gram-negative bacilli, intra-abdominal and biliary tract infection, complex urinary tract infection and severe skin and soft tissue infection. It is particularly suitable for infections of immunodeficient persons caused by multiple drug-resistant gram-bacteria, nosocomial infections, and central nervous system infections caused by gram-negative bacteria or Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
