What is Sunifiram：
Sunifiram powder is a synthetic derivative of piracetam, although it no longer belongs to racetam drugs due to the destruction of pyrrolidone skeleton (but it is still usually related to such drugs because it is derived from these drugs).

How does Sunifiram work?
1. Sunifiram powder activates AMPA-mediated neurotransmission.
2. It enhances LTP in a bell-shaped dose-response relationship. This enhancement of Sunifiram is related to the increase of AMPAR phosphorylation (by activating protein kinase II (CaMKII)) and NMDAR phosphorylation (by activating protein kinase C α (PKCα)). More specifically, Sunifiram stimulates the glycine binding site of NMDAR and activates PKCα through Src kinase. The enhancement of PKCα activity triggers LTP in hippocampus by activating CaMKII.

Sunifiram structure
