What is L-dopa ?

How is L-dopa extract extracted ?
L-dopa extract is contained in some leguminous plants and can be oxidized and polymerized by oxidase to produce melanin. The pods of some leguminous plants turn black at maturity. Melanin such as human and animal hair, cuttlefish ink method and watermelon seed coat also belong to this kind of melanin.
L-dopa, an amino acid, can be extracted from Chenopodium album seeds.
The extraction method is as follows: crushing Chenopodium album L., extracting with mixed solution at room temperature for 3 times, 24 hours each time. Filtering to obtain extractive solution. Concentrate the extractive solution under reduced pressure (21.3kPa), precipitate crystals, stand at 0-10℃ overnight, and filter to obtain its crude product. Dissolve the crude product, add activated carbon to filter, add a small amount of vitamin C to the filtrate to reach pH3.5, and precipitate a large number of crystals. Standing at 0-10℃ for 4h, and filtering.
The filter cake was washed twice with distilled water containing a small amount of vitamin C and dried at 60-70℃ to obtain this product. Based on soybean flour, the yield is about 2%. L-dopa extract can also be obtained by oxidation of L- tyrosine. Dissolve tyrosine in solvent, heat to 40℃ for 12h, and dilute with 20 times distilled water. Diluent exchange resin absorbs unreacted tyrosine, and then the finished product is obtained through post-slicing operation.
