How is Sodium iodide API produce? 

The preparation of Sodium iodide API usually includes the following steps:
Dissolve sodium hydroxide in purified water to prepare a sodium hydroxide solution containing 11% to 15%.
Add formic acid to sodium hydroxide solution, stir and heat. When the temperature rises to 65 ℃~85 ℃, maintain constant temperature and carry out sufficient neutralization reaction.
Slowly add refined iodine to the liquid after neutralization reaction. During the process of adding refined iodine, use a cooling device to maintain the liquid temperature at 70 ℃~90 ℃, and stir during the addition of refined iodine. After adding refined iodine, raise the temperature of the feed solution to 90 ℃~105 ℃ and maintain a constant temperature for the reaction. After the constant temperature reaction, wait for the yellow color of the iodine ions in the feed solution to gradually fade. Test the free iodine and IO3 − in the feed solution. When both the free iodine and IO3 − are qualified, it indicates that the reaction is complete.
Analyze the sulfate content in the feed solution, add barium hydroxide, and react to produce barium sulfate precipitate.
Add sodium hydroxide to adjust the pH of the feed solution to 7-9.
Add activated carbon for decolorization and adsorption of impurities, and boil the feed solution for 10-30 minutes after adding activated carbon. Then stop heating, stop stirring, and let it stand still, allowing small particles in the liquid to precipitate and suspended solids in the liquid to promote liquid stratification. Then proceed with filtering.
Heat and concentrate the filtered liquid, and cool it to 82 ± 2 ℃ when the solid-liquid ratio reaches 30% to 40%. Then perform centrifugal separation to obtain solid material.
Vacuum dry the wet solid material obtained after centrifugation to obtain the finished product.
