Liranaftate is a new third-generation thiocarbamate antifungal drug, a new class of chemical drugs, belonging to squalene cycoperoxidase inhibitor. By inhibiting the epoxidation reaction of fungal cell membrane squalene, it obstructs the synthesis of ergosterol, which is a component of cell membrane, and plays an antifungal role, with antifungal activity 8 times that of Tolnaftate. The effect of dermatophyton puller was better than clotrimazole. It has strong antifungal effects on skin filamentous fungi (Trichophyton, Microspora, Epidermophyton), and also shows antifungal effects on other filamentous fungi, dark fungi, and dimorphic fungi. It is suitable for the treatment of tinea capitis, tinea handorum, tinea pedis, tinea toenesis, tinea corporis, tinea femoris, tinea versicolor and candida vulvovaginitis.

Liranaftate is a relatively safe external antifungal formulation. In the study of mutagenicity, it was found that either chromosome aberration test or micronucleus test in bone marrow cells, Liranaftate cream had no teratogenic effect on cell chromosomes and had no effect on proliferation of bone marrow cells.
