Product Application
Hyodeoxycholic acid powder has the effects of lowering blood lipids, relieving spasms and removing phlegm. It is clinically used to treat hyperlipidemia, atherosclerosis, tracheitis, viral upper respiratory tract inflammation in children, and indigestion caused by hepatobiliary diseases; it has a certain inhibitory effect on pertussis bacteria, diphtheria bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus, etc. It is also suitable for cholangitis, cholecystitis, cholelithiasis and other non-obstructive bile stasis, and can accelerate the discharge of cholecystography contrast agents from the liver to facilitate imaging. It can promote intestinal fat decomposition and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, and can be used for indigestion caused by hepatobiliary diseases. It can be used as an anti-inflammatory drug to treat chronic bronchitis and viral respiratory tract inflammation in children. Hyodeoxycholic acid can lower blood cholesterol, treat and prevent coronary heart disease, hypertension, etc. It is one of the raw materials for the treatment of gallstones; the raw material for synthesizing ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and other steroid compounds; the main raw material for producing artificial bezoar.
Methyl hyocholic acid (lb) was acetylated at room temperature and then selectively hydrolyzed. The total yield of these two steps was 67%.
The above product was treated with trimethyl iodide silane in anhydrous acetonitrile, but the expected product was not obtained. It may be because the HI produced in the reaction caused olefination within the molecule, which in turn led to the reduction of the oxygen functional group of 7-0, making the molecule reach a stable structure.
It was reacted with methanesulfonyl chloride in the presence of triethylamine and then reduced to obtain the final product, hyodeoxycholic acid. The total yield of methyl hyocholic acid (lb) after six steps was 38%. This synthetic process shows how methyl hyocholic acid extracted from pig bile can be chemically transformed to synthesize hyodeoxycholic acid. Although there are some challenges and low yields in the process, this study provides important scientific basis for the synthesis of hyodeoxycholic acid.
