Eltrombopag Olamine API CAS 496775-62-3 is a thrombopoietin receptor agonist primarily used to treat chronic immune thrombocytopenia in adults. It works by activating the thrombopoietin receptor, stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow progenitor cells, and increasing platelet count. It is only effective for insufficient platelet production and is not suitable for cases of excessive platelet destruction.
Mechanism of Action: It can bind to TPO receptors (transmembrane domain) on the cell membrane, activating signal transduction pathways, stimulating the differentiation and proliferation of human bone marrow progenitor cells into megakaryocytes, promoting megakaryocyte maturation, and thereby increasing platelet production. Unlike glucocorticoids, which rapidly raise platelet levels to a safe level, this mechanism of action differs.
