Chemical Applications of Bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate CAS 1565-94-2
Bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate is mainly used in dental materials, UV-curable fillers (suitable for UDMA), high-end UV coatings and adhesives, and as a resin modifier. It is also a UV-curable crosslinking agent. It can cure components of inks, coatings, varnishes, and lacquer.
Preparation of Photosensitive Resins
A series of 3D printing photosensitive resins based on thiol-methacrylate have been prepared using Bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate as one of the main raw materials, in conjunction with PETMP, TMPA, etc. Performance testing revealed that the addition of Bisphenol A glycerolate dimethacrylate significantly improved the mechanical properties of the resin, increasing the tensile strength from 8.12 MPa to 44.08 MPa. However, with increasing PETMP content, the thiol conversion rate of the resin ranged from 18.66% to 38.80%, and the C=C double bond conversion rate ranged from 32.27% to 70.06%. Simultaneously, crystallinity and volume shrinkage (decreasing from 7.56% to 5.44%) both showed a decreasing trend, while the tensile strength dropped sharply to 0.28 MPa. Furthermore, the thermal decomposition temperature of all resins was above 300℃, and SEM analysis showed good interlayer adhesion and no obvious delamination in the 3D printed parts.
