Nootropic Nefiracetam is a cognitive enhancer of the Racetam family, originally derived from the parent molecule piracetam, but structurally most similar to Aniracetam. Because Nefiracetam and Aniracetam are fat-soluble drugs. They are used in the treatment of improving memory and cognitive impairments. There are two modes of action. The first approach is to extend the openings of calcium channels that enhance receptor responses (binding to PKA and Gi/o proteins), regardless of the synapses. The second approach is related to PKC and CAMKII, as cholinergic receptors complete the reaction. The first pathway (calcium channel) is important in the long term, while the latter pathway (PKC/CAMKII) has an impact on the enhancement of neural signals and their transmission.

Finally, Nootropic Nefiracetam potentiates acetylcholine receptors in the hippocampus which encourages glutamate release and LTP. Piracetam does not share this memory enhancing quality
