Linagliptin (BI-1356) is a new type of highly effective and selective dipeptide -4 (DPP-4) inhibitor with IC50 of 1 nM. The selectivity of DPP-4 is more than 10,000 times higher than that of other dipeptidyl peptidases such as DPP-2, DPP-8 and DPP-9.
