A recent study in 2018 found that long-term use of indole-3-Carbinol may be beneficial to maintaining treatment and improving treatment outcomes in patients with advanced ovarian cancer. A previous study found that cervical epithelial endothelial cells significantly subsided tumor formation (CIN) in patients treated with I3C. However, a clear study is needed to confirm the chemopreventive potential and anti-tumor effects of 3-Indolylcarbinol and its metabolite Diindolylmethane (DIM) in breast cancer, because DIM may interact with standard care hormones in the treatment of tamoxifen and reduce its active form of the drug, which may affect the therapeutic effect of tamoxifen.
