N- (1-(phenyl acetyl) -L- prolyl) glycine ethyl ester was prepared from N-phenyl acetyl -L- proline, and glycine ethyl ester hydrochloride by two different schemes. N- phenyl acetyl -L- proline was synthesized with ethyl glycinate hydrochloride under alkaline conditions under the activation of isobutyl chloroformate.
