What is the pharmacological action of Tazobactam acid?
Tazobactam acid synthesized by the intermediate Osotriazole is an irreversible competitive β -lactamase inhibitor, which has strong inhibitory effects on penicillinase produced by Staphylococcus aureus, plasmid-mediated β -lactamase produced by Gram-negative bacilli and chromosome-mediated β -lactamase produced by Proteus, Bacteroides and Klebsiella. Practice has proved that Tazobactam is superior to clavulanic acid and sulbactam in inhibiting enzyme, and it also inhibits some chromosome-mediated type I enzymes. It has little effect on Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Serratia. Only weak antibacterial activity.
